All Il Bisonte products are made so that they can be used and loved for as long as possible, all the while reducing environmental impact.
Leathers are derived exclusively from Italian animals killed for food. They’re made using the ancient natural «vegetable tanning» technique that utilizes no toxic agents.
The environmentally friendly production processes are constantly being checked and optimized. Their manufacturing endorses the use of biodegradable materials and waste recycling: the hair removed from hides, for example, is made into fertilizer.
SUSTAINABLE SUPPLY CHAIN
All the raw materials used to create bags and accessories come from Tuscany’s best artisan districts, where the company itself was born.
In fifty years of business Il Bisonte has been able to build and maintain an enduring relationship with a territory that has always produced excellence: hides come from the tanneries in Santa Croce sull’Arno; the fabrics in cotton and linen are spun and dyed in Prato factories; wool comes from Casentino only.
All the workshops for tanning, tamponatura, cutting, splitting, skiving and hand-sewing are located within 30 km of the main factory, in the middle of a territory that symbolizes the best artisan know-how.
Il Bisonte constantly investing in its production chain, training new specialized craftsmen who will continue to produce high quality products using ecosustainable techniques.
