100% Made in Tuscany
OUR 30-KM SUPPLY CHAIN
Il Bisonte's manufacturing universe is centered in the small town of Pontassieve, a short distance from Florence.
All workshops dedicated to tanning, cutting, splitting, skiving and hand-stitching are located within 30 km of the main factory. All raw materials used to make our bags and accessories also come from Tuscany's best manufacturing districts where only the highest quality leathers and fabrics are selected.
We are proud to contribute to safeguarding our artisans' talent and passion, and to continue to train new generations of masters specializing in well-made, beautiful products, who sustainably produce excellence. It is certainly thanks to them that our bags and accessories promote this unique area world-wide; it is a symbol not only of top-notch craftsmanship, but also provides our customers with the best guarantee of quality.
The places in our supply chain
The executive offices, showroom, Wanny Di Filippo's studio and his bison museum are all located in Palazzo Corsini, one of the most beautiful Baroque buildings in the historic center of Florence.
The creative center, pattern-making studio, restoration workshop, warehouses and the brand's extraordinary historical archive are all located here.
Il Bisonte bags are produced in this enchanting landscape where the Etruscans started cultivating grapevines in 9th century BC.
Cotton and linen fabrics are spun and dyed in factories in Prato, home to the biggest European textile district since the Middle Ages.
Woolen cloth made using traditional, nineteenth-century methods comes exclusively from Casentino situated between Florence and Arezzo in the so-called "valley of fabrics".
Metal accessories are produced in this small hilltop village by artisans who have inherited the ancient tradition of wrought iron smithing.
BORGO SAN LORENZO
Wallets are made in this ancient town, birthplace of the Medici family and an area that has been renowned for leather manufacturing since the Renaissance.
In the homeland of Giotto and Beato Angelico situated in the heart of a valley known as the "garden of Italy", Il Bisonte produces leather bags and accessories.
The leathers used by Il Bisonte are selected one by one from the tanneries in Santa Croce sull'Arno, world capital of quality leather since 1700.
